We're Still Here......

and kicking. having two extra kids isn't that bad... so far.LOL. Mine is the biggest pain. He is a bully. He only has two days left of summer school. I have to call a JOY school to check that out to see if they provide transportation for the kids. It wold be a great camp for Steven. It is a camp for kids with special needs. They get to go swimming, bowling, skating, shopping, and work on social skills, which he needs to brush up on. I saw an article about it in the newspaper here yesterday.I just thought it would be nice to get him out the house for a while now. Daniel has had his turn.Looks like they have been around for 25+ years. They cater to kids with disabilities. Wish I had known about this sooner, he could have been going all summer.

Well, the other two have been ok so far. Emily is my shadow.I may have to clean out the pool early today so we can go swimming today. I think they got bored with the trampoline yesterday. If I had of known they would be staying, they could have brought their bikes or scotters or something.I have a pedal gocart that Emily can ride on but the boys wont leave her alone on it.

Well, I am looking forward to the Photo Scavenger hunt for Slice of Country. There happens to be a house on Main Street in town that I was gonna take a picture of, now I have to take it and make it interesting. I thought this house was special and then one day I came by and saw a lady with a disfigured body sitting in a wheelchair on the front porch and this house took on a new love in my heart.I cant think of anything else to use so that one will be good. Maybe when I go and take the picture, I can capture her sitting out there admiring the pretty scenery.I am having trouble with the one picture I have to take of myself. My face looks twisted and my left eye droops really bad in pictures and I dont like to share them. Its bad enough when someone else takes it.I need to find out more about this Photoshop that melly is involved in. I love her pictures she takes.I was just admiring her pictures just last night. They look so professional and make one feel like you are there in the picture.

Well, have to get busy cleaning and feeding the kids breakfast. They haven't decided if they are awake yet and haven't asked for breakfast yet. It won't be much longer.Off to enjoy my day filled with kids.

Weekend was Wonderful

We had a great weekend. We had grandma Perkins,Aunt Peggy, Tyler and Emily here with us. Saturday everyone just "hung out" because we were all tired. Sunday we got up and went to the beach. We had a blast. We even had John in shorts and barefooted and in the waves playing with the kids. They loved it. Come time to go home and the kids didnt want to leave. They wanted to spend two weeks with us. They have been swimming and playing on the Playsystion, and jumping on the trampoline so far. We want to go to the park one day and maybe sneak back to the beach again before they leave. That might happen next week when Karen ,Taylor, and Courtney can go with us. Oh and Ashlyn. Can't leave Ashlyn out..I know my boys have enjoyed them being here this week.
Daniel will be done with summer school Thursday so he can spend some more time with them Friday. We are just glad to have them here.

Well We have Survived.....

another week here. We had rain yesterday and today off and on. John and Brandon had to go get Edward from Surfside because his Jeep broke down. They got it done in between showers today and he was on his way. Was good to see him and meet his girlfriend Jennifer.

Our week has really been eventless. I have been working on getting veggies put up for the winter. Looks like I have to go buy tomatoes to put in the freezer. No one is seeming to get a bushel at the time around here.I have to dump my pickles I made. The first batch was delicious(and gone!) but the second and third batches were really salty. Come to find out, I was supposed to pack them on ice and use rock salt instead of canning salt. I guess that was my first lesson in canning. I did get all my jars sealed and that was the worst fear of canning I had. I also believe I didn't get them rinsed very well. Now I know.
This time I am using a different recipe. I was told about this pack of seasoning that you can get... name is Ball Bread and Butter Pickles and Mrs.Wages Kosher Dill or Dill pickles. I was reading the back of the pack and it says to boil jars, pack jars, boil vinegar, sugar, and seasoning pack, spoon into jars, remove air and seal. Thats it. Sounds easy enough for me I guess.I will have to let them set for up to six weeks for the best flavor. I have a feeling that the first jar won't make it that long around here. I will let you know of the outcome on them.

Well Ms. Ashlyn is now two weeks old and growing like a weed. She can pick her head up and turn it side to side on her own. She can scoot up the bed if you lay her on her belly. She is going to be a fast baby. She is going to have to do something to keep up with all the other ones...LOL.

Well, Here it is July again....

and HOT!!! We made it our first week with a new baby. She is so beautiful. The kids are doing better with her than I thought they would.
Kids have been swimming and terrorizing the house and yard this week. Daniel is almost done with summer sch0ol. He will be so glad.He doesn't like being the only one having to go to school in the summer.
We had planned on going to see fireworks uptown last night, but the storms kept us away. I think they had it set up but they had to abort because when the storms started, they didn't go right away. It brought some much needed rain our way,Maybe we can go see fireworks Wednesday night somewhere, either at South Columbus High School or at NMB pier. We can decide that another day.My belly is too full to think to much right now. Brandon,Karen, and the girls, Alison, Jody, and Nevaeh came over for lunch today. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, salad, baked beans, and mac and cheese. It was so good. I think everyone got their bellies full because I think they were all ready to go home and collapse.
Well, not much interesting going on here right now. We are just chillin' out today. I will post again soon.
