OK I am bored...

can't you tell? I have changed and played with different templates tonight. I think I have finally found one made to my likings. I used a picture from clip art and cropped it down to the size I wanted. I am liking it.Hope you enjoy our new look.

Today is my dad's 58th birthday. Happy Birthday to you.

OK...I have never had fried green tomatoes...

until tonight. They are delicious!!!! Why haven't I tried them before now? My neighbor brought me over some today and I was talking to John and he said "you should try them,I haven't had them in years." So, I got the pan out,cut them up, got my flour and milk ready( didn't have any eggs) and fried them up. I will be cooking them more often. We ate til we couldn't eat anymore.

I guess this month has been our try new things month. I also made a mayonnaise cake( forgot to get a picture). It was ok to me. John and the boys loved it. I guess it was just my tastebuds.

to put a picture of Taylor in here. Can you tell that Im not ready for school to be out. Steven is out as of Tuesday and Daniel and Taylor get out tomorrow.

This is our "flip flop" cakes. I made them with yellow and devils food cake mixes and vanilla icing. Theyu turned out better than I thought it would.

Hard to believe they are now 8 years old. Hopefully we will get to see her this weekend. She called today to tell her poppy to pack his bags and come stay a few days until school gets out so she can come home with him. She is so funny!!

I have to make her a flip flop cake this weekend for her birthday.Today I tried my hand at another pool cake. This one didn't turn out quite right. The cake soaked up the jello. It was still eatible,and it was good.

Happy Memorial Day

Thanks to all our armed forces for their fight for our freedom and liberty.Thank you to the ones that fight to protect us everyday. Thanks and RIP to the soldiers that gave their lives for us.


Today was a laid back day here. John had to work today so the boys and I just hung out here at home. We did do some shopping this morning for cleaning supplies and those "must-haves" like tp and paper towels.We are working on getting the yard cleaned and the pool going. I should have the pool ready by this weekend.Then to let it warm up sol we dont freeze in there.

Believe it or not....

We got to take a shower in the new shower last night!!!! We finally got the faucet set and got it installed. It felt so good, I didnt want to get out. We are gonna finish the one wall this week and then we might can say it is done. (and it hasnt been six months yet.....LOL)

Happy Birthday Steven....

10 years old now. He had a great day. He was so excited when he got up this morning. I kept asking him how his day was going... his reply... it has been good. After John gave him his present from him, his day "just got better".

I'm Back...

It has been busy around here lately. All this spring cleaning (and spring cleaning again...lol) has kept me busy.I finally had time to download pics from when the girls were here.

We really stil here....

We have been busy. We had Courtney for one week and Ashlyn for two weeks.Just got back from taking Ashlyn home today. I sure do miss all of them. It is lonesome here without them. I guess this week will be spent getting everything I have neglected back together. I do have my work cut out for me. I will try to get back to posting more regular... I promise.

We are all better here...

except for my voice. Every time I have Bronchitis, I lose my voice. Hopefully it will be back with me soon. I sure do miss it. Well, it is time to hide the yarn. I have gotten into crocheting and I am making a big ole mess of it. I did do one good thing. I love my washcloth. Gretta has showed me how to do the basic granny square so my next project is to make lots of granny squares for an afghan. I sure do need lots of practice on it. Hers looks so much better than mine. See if you can tell whos is whos.

We are still here....

just been hanging out around here. We are at a stand still on remoedling right now. Everyone has been sick here. Steven did go to school Thursday,but his teacher called and asked if I thought he might need to stay out another day. He still isn't eating. He only wants drinks like water and tea.The doctor gave him a good report,but he has lost six pounds since his surgery. That could be a good thing for him.Wish I could just drop six pounds a week.

Steven is doing good...

He was a real trooper today. They got all the tonsils out and said there were no more adnoids. He didn't close his eyes tonight until after 7:00 pm.John and Daniel came home from the hospital and started working on the bathroom more. They now have the walls back up. It looks really good in there.

We are on hold for the night..

We have to rest a little. Steven is going in for his tonsillectomy and adnoidectomy tomorrow morning at 8:15am. He is so anxious. Also on a sadder note,Karen called today and said that Brandon's mom has passed. She put up a good fight. I guess they will be heading to Kentucky tomorrow for the funeral. I will keep you all posted on everything later this week. Hopefully before too long,we can get back to business here.

We are underway....

We now have the stand up shower,toilet,sink,vanity,wallboard,and flooring. We are now faced with the actual plumbing dilemma. We have all this stuff and we now have to move the drains so it will all fit in there and still have room to move about. The shower is an acward shape and it is throwing the whole 5x8 room off.The doors open oddly and it would sit right on top of the toilet so he has to move all the drains to turn it all around. He thinks he has it all figured out now.I sure hope so. He has had a time with this little room. The weather doesn't want to cooperate with him. It is sunny when he is at work and rainy and cold when he has the time off to actually do it. We have to make a quick trip to Lowes in the morning to get the pieces he needs to move the plumbing with. We have a huge hole back there right now. He did manage to cut the floor out today.

Remodel is underway

We have started out remodel. We have the walls between Daniels room and the bathroom down and the carpet up. We have purchased the stand up shower and sink/vanity. We have to get the stuff to do the plumbing next so the drains and water lines can be moved to their new locations. We are switching the sink and toilet around so there might be more room in there with that new shower.Here you can see some of the water damage done from Steven's plumbing expedition.

We have no snow but some much needed rain

It has been raining since last night. It has been a good soaking rain all day. They say we may see some snow flurries late tonight but doubtful.Well today was an eventful day. We went all over Conway and the beach looking for a stand up shower for the boys bathroom. We ended up at the Lowes at North Myrtle. We got the corner standup with the glass sides and door.We also have been thinking about doing the pedistal sink in there instead of the cabinet. So many decisions...my head hurts already.
